ROUTLEDGE, Thomas - Bell Farm superintendent

Tom Routledge (1857-1893) reportedly selected the land for the Bell Farm and was the superintendent for the first two years.

Prior to moving to the Canadian West, Rutledge attended the University of Cambridge in England and was a member of its rowing team in 1879.

In 1883 Tom Rutledge moved from Indian Head to Manitoba, where, in partnership with Frank Bouverie, he established the Boss Hill Farm near Virden, which specialized in breeding cattle..
