Lived on the Bell Farm from 1884 until 1887 or 1889.
William Elston Hall and his wife Sophie Elizabeth (Clarkson) Hall, along with their children left their native Yorkshire England on April 17, 1884. They boarded the "SS Peruvian" in Liverpool and fourteen days later, on May 1, 1884, they docked in Quebec City, Canada. Thus began their new life in a new country. They were 32 when they came to Canada.
William worked on the Bell Farm until 1887 or 1889, when he began work at the new Dominion Experimental Farm created out of part of the Bell Farm. Here he remained until 1891, when the family moved to their homestead near Sintaluta, working the land in the summer, and William working at the Experimental Farm during the winter months.
