Furnivall, Willoughby Charles - Lord Brassey representative
Willoughby Charles Furnivall (1837-1901) was a railway civil engineer based out of India for most of his career. In the Fall of 1893 he was travelling with his brother-in-law, Dr. Henry Searle Gaye in Canada and the United States.
I also found W.C. Furnivall in Oct. 1893 in California representing Brassey's interests in the Oregon Improvement Company "a business that owned and operated coal mines, railroads, and steamship companies in Washington and California".
Furnivall returned to the United States in 1894 arriving in New York Sept. 12 on the SS Teutonic and departing Sept. 22 on the SS Campania. I haven't found any information about this brief hop across the pond but possibly related to Lord Brassey's Sept. visit.
