SCOTT, Robert Henry - British Association Member - 1884
Dr. Robert H. Scott (1833-1916), was born in Dublin, Ireland, and was founder of Valentia Observatory and first Director of the British Meteorological Office (1867-1900).
He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in 1852 and joined the Royal Society in 1871.
In 1884, Robert Scott joined other members of the British Association and travelled to Canada for their annual conference in Montreal, followed by a trip to the West. Although he did not sign the Bell Farm Visitors Register, his name is included in a newspaper report from Medicine Hat (Sept. 11, 1884); hence it is possible that he visited the Farm.
