Register entry 235 - Mabel (Lake) Belson


Visited the Bell Farm on July 7, 1887 - Mabel Lake (b. 1862) and several Lake family members lived near Grenfell, about 30 miles (53 km) east of Indian Head. On April 21, 1897 Mabel married Major William H. Belson, at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Weed Hills, in the nearby Ceylon District. They later moved to British Columbia.

Mabel was the younger sister of Sir Richard Lake, who served as Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan from 1915-1921 (see Register Entry # 252).
