Register entry 177 - Sir Henry Whatley Tyler


Visited the Bell Farm on June 30, 1885 - Sir Henry Whatley Tyler (1827-1908) served in the British Army from 1844 to 1847. He worked extensively with the development of railways, and was the president of the Grand Trunk Railway of Canada from 1877 to 1895. In the British general election of 1880, he was elected to represent the Conservative Party in the Borough of Harwich.
