Visited the Bell Farm on Apriil 6, 1885 - Gerrit Willen Vis (c.1852-1886) was born in the Netherlands and migrated to the USA in 1873. He was the managing director of the Netherlands-American Land Company and Vice-Consul of the Netherlands at St. Paul, Minnesota. Before that he was the private secretary to General Manager Clarke of the Union Pacific Railroad, and also of President Carr of the Kansas Pacific Railroad.

(Part of a party of financiers who visited the Bell Farm on April 6, including Adolphe Boissevain, George Harris, John Tupper, Gerrit Vis, and Daniel Boissevain.)
