Visited the Bell Farm on September 22, 1884 - Ellen Joyce, daughter of the 5th Baron Dynevor, was one of the founding members of the GFS (Girls’ Friendly Society) which had a branch dedicated to organizing emigration for young working class British women to the colonies. This branch of the GFS later became known as the British Women’s Emigration Association which Joyce worked with for 40 years and sent many girls to it's base in Qu’Appelle. Mrs Joyce, accompanied by her son Rev A.G. Joyce brought a group of girls with her to Canada on the same crossing as the British Association.
