Register entry 092 - Sir John Lister Kaye
Visited the Bell Farm in September 1884 - Sir John Lister-Kaye (1853-1924) of Denby Grange, Yorkshire visited the Sykes' farm near Edgeley in 1884 and was so impressed that he purchased 6000 acres near Balgonie Station. He also visited the Bell Farm that fall.
In 1885 Kaye formed the Canadian Agricultural, Coal and Colonization Company and purchased 100,000 acres of land.
