Register entry 063 - William Henderson


Visited the Bell Farm twice in August 1884 - William Henderson (1837 - 1931) was a Scottish architect with the federal Department of Public Works (DPW). He married Mary Jane Smith in 1862, and the family moved to Canada in 1872, where Henderson began work with DPW. The family later lived in Battleford, Winnipeg, Regina, Qu'Appelle and Moose Jaw, then settled in Victoria, British Columbia in 1897. It was from Qu'Appelle that William and Mary Henderson first visited the Bell Farm, possibly on August 20th, 1884.
