1964 - Provincial Historic Marker

This brick and metal historic marker replaced the 1955 wooden marker - For details on the text, see the 1955 wooden marker.

The wooden historic markers were replaced in the 1960s and 70s by bronze and aluminum markers, deemed to be more durable. This marker was reportedly replaced in 1964.

This aluminum marker originally stood at the intersection of Highways 1 and 56. It was relocated to North Railway Street, near Grand Avenue at a later date, before this photo was taken on August 29, 2006.
