1923 - Holden (Bell) Farmhouse
B.F. Holden bought the Bell Farmhouse and accompanying lands in 1917. This photo shows the Farmhouse in the 1920s, while owned by the Holden family. A doorway has been cut through the central east window to provide access to a walkway at the second storey level. Also, the fieldstone walls have been covered with a layer of pardging and scored to give the appearance of cut stone construction, possibly following the same lines as those created by Major Bell in 1884.
The Campkin family posed for a group photo at this location in the mid 1910s, proudly displaying their fine horse and carriage. Now, the Holden family takes its turn, but with a fancy new automobile. The grounds look more overgrown, suggesting that no one was regularly living in the house at this time.
