1890s - Major W.R. Bell with an Indigenous woman on the Bell Farm

Major Bell is visiting with one of the Indigenous women of the region, standing at the base of the large flagpole in front of his Farmhouse.
The Major regularly employed Indigenous people to help with the harvest, and to cut firewood. During those harvest times, a teepee village would be established on the Farm; and it is likely that Major Bell visited with his employees and neighbours on those occasions.

While the exact date for this photo is unknown, it is possible that it was taken before Major Bell permanently left the Bell Farm in 1896, or during a return visit in later years.
