Register entry 259 - W.D.Perley
Visited the Bell Farm on Oct. 5, 1887 - William Dell Perley (1838-1909) was a New Brunswick farmer and politician who moved West in 1882. He was elected to the North-West Territorial Council in 1885 (Qu'Appelle), and to Parliament in 1887 (Assiniboia East). In 1889, at the request of Prime Minister Sir John A. Macdonald, Perley resigned his seat to accept an appointment to the Canadian Senate. In addition he briefly served as Mayor of Wolseley in 1909. Perley died during his first year in office.
