Register entry 254b - Sir Gen Henry C. Wilkinson
Visited the Bell Farm on 17 Sept. 1887 - General Sir Henry Clement Wilkinson (1837-1908) visited the Bell Farm Sept. 17, 1887 and a few days later purchased land for himself and friends in the Birtle area of Manitoba. Wilkinson often visited his 2000 acre farm, Birtleside, although by 1898 he was renting out his land and pursuing his mining interests in Lake of the Woods area of Ontario. General Wilkinson passed away at Kenora, Ontario in 1908.
