Visited the Bell Farm on September 14, 1884 - William Whitaker, a member of the British Association tour to the Bell Farm in September 1884, was actively employed as a geologist for nearly 70 years, from 1857 to 1925. He was also a geological bibliographer and a pioneer of British hydrogeology - referred to as the: father of English hydrogeology.
