 A Revitalized Interpretive Centre

Self-led or guided Bell Barn tours.

On your tour, you will visit the Bell Barn’s interpretive centre. This parade of informational panels offers the opportunity to engage with the Bell Barn’s history and visualize the transformation that has occurred over nearly 150 years of development in the area. At each stop, there are first-hand recounts of what drove the agricultural community during 1882. These transcribed archival documents offer the chance to envelop yourself in the historical significance of the Bell Barn.

See our Outdoor Gardens

Once you’ve experienced the life and times of farmers in 1882, you will be taken outdoors to visit the gardens near the Bell Barn. Gardens fed families and landowners as they depended almost entirely on vegetables, animals and grains that they produced. Here, you will learn more about the agricultural changes and growth that have occurred between the barn’s original construction and where it is now after its renovations. You will learn more about the landscape and surrounding areas, what makes it unique and how the land continues to thrive.

A Supportive Guide for You

Throughout your tour, you will be accompanied by one of the Bell Barn Society’s guides. They will help bring to life the history and significance of Saskatchewan’s first round stone barn so that you can leave with a greater appreciation of agricultural advances that have occurred within the province. Should you have any questions on your tour, your guide will be more than happy to try to answer them.
